Bristol primary places row rumbles on

More than a dozen families in Stoke Bishop have been offered primary school places three miles away from their homes.

Bristol City Council says it does not have any places any closer to where the children live so it will pay to transport them elsewhere.

But parents do not want their four-year-olds taken out of their community for their first experience of school life.

They are demanding that the authority takes action to create some more spaces in their neighbourhood.
